Where it all started

I have always wanted my own business but the time never seemed to be right, or we didn't have enough money or excuse, excuse, excuse! That was of course until 2026 when I thought "This is it! This is the year I make it happen!". Well actually it was either this or I go into teaching which is what I was going to do had I not had the courage to do this. Anyway enough about that, you see, our children are all growing up and I find myself more and more with nobody to well... mollycoddle (apart from the dog) so I needed a project I could love, nurture and be 100% passionate about.  

I miss all the little things that come with babies. All the tiny clothes and blankets, etc. And as I'm not having anymore children my next stop will be grand-parenthood! So, my question to myself was...

 "How will I feel when my daughter (or daughter-in-law) has a child?"

I will be over the moon (when she's a bit older, of course) and I will also desperately want to be involved in supporting her and her baby. I'll want her to know that I'm always here to help and I would want to find the perfect gift to show this. My family is everything to me, as it is to most people.  

So, who is Plummy for?

Plummy is for the people who really care about the little things- the mum choosing something special for her new baby, the grandma searching for the prefect gift, the auntie looking for something a little more thoughtful, or the friend wanting to send something beautiful to someone who has just had a baby. Because sometimes, a little outfit, a tiny blanket or a beautifully chosen gift can mean so much more than the thing itself- it can become part of a memory, a moment and a feeling that lasts long after the baby has grown out of it. 

Our bigger vision

I have a dream of having our very own shops! Of people walking through the door and being able to see for themselves exactly what they are buying as a special gift for a child they know and love. I don't just want to build our brand but I want to build a community because it's the people that will be the heart of Plummy. I want to create a place full of warmth and sentiment, somewhere special gifts are chosen with love and care.   

What makes us different? 

I don't want Plummy to be just another baby shop. I want it to feel like the place you come when you're looking for something that feels a little bit special. Everything is chosen with thought, care and that lovely feeling you get when you find the one. Because when you're buying for a baby, you're rarely just buying something to wear or something to unwrap. You're buying a little moment. A memory. A "look how tiny they were" moment that might still be treasured years from now. 

A little bit about me...

I'm Lea, the person behind Plummy. 

I'm a mum of three, a step-mum of three, a wife, a dog mum, and apparently, someone who can't walk past tiny baby clothes without buying them! 😂

Plummy is something I've created because I wanted a business that felt meaningful- something I could pour my creativity, my love of babies, and my need to help people into. 

And yes, I probably will get far too excited about a particular gorgeous little outfit!

Little things. Big feelings. 

That's what Plummy is all about. 

The excitement of meeting a new baby. The joy of choosing their first outfit. The excitement of watching someone you love become a parent. The tiny details, the thoughtful gifts and those fleeting little moments that somehow become the memories we treasure most. 

I want Plummy to be part of those moments. 

And my hope is that when you choose something from Plummy, you don't just see a beautiful little outfit or a lovely gift. You see the person you're buying it for. You imagine their little face, the excitement of opening it, the first time they wear it, and the memories that will be made along the way. 

Because babies may grow out of their clothes incredibly quickly, but the feelings attached to those moments can last a lifetime. 

That's the kind of business I want to build. 

A business with heart. A place where thoughtful people can find beautiful things for the little people they love, and where every order feels like it has been chosen with care. 

One day, I'd love for Plummy to become more than an online boutique. I dream of creating beautiful little shops where people can walk through the door, browse, chat, find something special and feel that same sense of excitement. 

But wherever Plummy goes, I want one thing to remain at its heart:
